Samsung Becomes Largest Shareholder of Rainbow Robotics and Increases It Is Stake!
Samsung Electronics has increased its stake in South Korea-based robotics manufacturer Rainbow Robotics from 14.7% to 35%, making it the largest shareholder in the company. Samsung paid 267 billion KRW (approximately $181 million) for this investment . The company announced that it invested in Rainbow Robotics with the aim of strengthening its robotics division and accelerating the development of humanoid robots.
Rainbow Robotics to Integrate with Samsung and Establish a New Robotics Office!
Rainbow Robotics will be integrated as a subsidiary of Samsung , with the deal expected to close in February 2025. Samsung also announced that it will establish a Future Robotics Office that will report directly to the CEO. This office will contribute to Rainbow Robotics’ expansion into overseas markets. Dr. Jun-ho Oh, founder of Rainbow Robotics, will lead the new office and serve as an advisor.
